Oklahoma Highway Patrol and ICE Team Up: 120 Illegal Aliens Arrested in Major Operation
In a shocking crackdown, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) has partnered with the Oklahoma Highway Patrol (OHP) to conduct a massive three-day operation that uncovered a staggering 120 illegal aliens along Interstate 40. This operation, which took place from September 22 to 25, has raised alarms about the safety of our highways and the integrity of our immigration system.
The operation was part of ICE’s 287(g) program, designed to empower local law enforcement to identify and detain individuals violating immigration laws. With OHP making nearly 520 traffic contacts, ICE officers conducted thorough records checks on foreign-born nationals stopped during routine patrols. The results were alarming.
Among the 120 individuals arrested, a jaw-dropping 91 were found operating commercial motor vehicles—18-wheelers—while holding Commercial Driver’s Licenses (CDLs). These drivers hailed from various countries, including India (39), China (12), Uzbekistan (13), and others like Russia and Türkiye. Many of these licenses were issued by blue states, including California (44), New York (14), and Pennsylvania (12), raising questions about the vetting processes in these jurisdictions.
The profile of those arrested is deeply concerning. Out of the total, 27 were apprehended from passenger vehicles, primarily from Mexico (15) and Guatemala (10), with others from China and Cuba. Some had serious criminal backgrounds—multiple DUIs, illegal reentries, and serious drug offenses. Disturbingly, 23 had entered the United States between 2020 and 2024, indicative of the ongoing border crisis that has been exacerbated under the current administration.
Furthermore, two of the arrests occurred at a nearby marijuana grow operation, further linking illegal activities to these individuals. The operation emphasizes the dangers of unchecked illegal immigration, particularly with individuals driving massive trucks on American roads.
ICE Deputy Director Madison Sheahan praised the collaboration, asserting, “ICE’s 287(g) program clearly demonstrates how federal and local law enforcement agencies can work together to make America safe again. Illegal aliens have no business operating 18 wheelers on America’s highways. Our roads are now safer with these illegal aliens no longer behind the wheel.”
To combat this growing threat, Transportation Secretary Sean P. Duffy has taken decisive action, implementing stricter regulations on non-domiciled CDLs for non-citizens. This includes requiring employment-based visas and rigorous federal immigration checks. Duffy stated, “What our team has discovered should disturb and anger every American. Licenses to operate a massive, 80,000-pound truck are being issued to dangerous foreign drivers – often times illegally. This is a direct threat to the safety of every family on the road, and I won’t stand for it.”
This operation represents a crucial step in addressing the Biden administration’s border policies, which have allowed countless individuals to slip through the cracks and obtain licenses without proper scrutiny.
As more states consider entering into agreements under the 287(g) program, the enforcement of immigration laws seems poised to strengthen, potentially preventing future tragedies on our highways. The message is clear: America’s safety is paramount, and those who threaten it will be held accountable.
