John Catanzara, President of Chicago’s Fraternal Order of Police, told Fox News on Monday that he believes the city’s police department is lying by claiming there was no standdown order given to officers amid the recent violent attack on ICE officers that resulted in an armed leftist woman being shot after ramming her car into a federal vehicle.
The controversy stems around police dispatch audio where Chicago PD officers were told by Patrol Chief Jon Hein to stay away from the incident, with the dispatch computer system reading, “Chief of Patrol. No units will respond to this.”

Catanzara said “Somebody’s lying, whether it’s the Chief of Patrol or Unit 999, and I can tell you I personally know that lieutenant and he has an impeccable record. On the other hand, the Chief of Patrol, not so much. He has been notorious for lying and stomping on anybody to get to where he’s gotten to this point. Do I think he gave that order? Absolutely. And, I think the lieutenant was just relaying what that phone call reiterated to him to not send anybody over there.”

“Sadly, this department is literally a shell of itself and so fearful of what politicians and this mayor are going to do to them if they respond,” he added. “Every single citizen’s sanctity of life is what this city supposedly cares about. That doesn’t discriminate between civilian and law enforcement. If someone’s calling for help, we are obligated to go. This person should be taken out of his assignment right now, stripped of his police powers and removed from command. He has no business wearing a badge.”
The Chicago PD head’s actions show exactly why President Trump is trying to send National Guard troops to the city in order to protect federal agents trying to do their jobs as they’re not receiving proper assistance from local law enforcement.
