A CNN town hall event featuring Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) and Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.) went off the rails as the pair faced tough unscripted questions from voters about the disarray in the Democrat Party.
In one exchange going viral, a town hall attendee put the screws to Sanders asking why Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.) is refusing to come to the bargaining table with Republicans – despite signing Continuing Resolutions 13 times in the past 4 years.

In another exchange, Bernie had a hard time explaining why Republicans appeal more to younger generations on social media, with the White House turning the clip into another sombrero meme.

At another point, AOC and Bernie both got flustered when she was directly questioned whether she would run for Schumer’s Senate seat, a question AOC has previously evaded, with Sanders playing defense by deflecting the question.
AOC also went on a wild soliloquy about why Republicans need to “pick up a phone” and negotiate with Democrats (who won’t budge on healthcare), with Bernie’s face betraying his utter chagrin.
